Aren’t you tired of staying indoors already? Malls and restaurants are passé. Go for a breath of fresh air to one of the many parks Hyderabad has to offer.
This list of Hyderabad parks is just the first instalment of the list of parks in Hyderabad that you should visit. Many more will follow.
KBR Park Jubillee Hills

Kasu Brahmananda Reddy National Park, or KBR for short, has been a walker’s paradise for decades. The city’s green lung is a major contributing factor to the area’s cleaner air quality. There is an entry fee, but you also have the option to walk the periphery of the park for free.
The uneven terrain gives you a good workout, and you’ll find plenty of people taking advantage of this facility. Cycles are not allowed inside the park. Kids can cycle on the outside path if they are careful not to bump into all the walkers.
You’ll also be greeted by peacocks strutting along with the rest of the crowds. However, their plumage has been exploited by people looking to decorate with peacock feathers.

Entry Fee and Parking:
The entry fee for KBR Park is ₹35 for adults and ₹20 for children. It is open from 5:30 to 10 am and then from 4 to 7 pm. There are a few parking spots available on the periphery, but they fill up fast during rush hours.
Hyderabad Botanical Gardens Kondapur

You can easily miss the Kotla Vijaya Bhaskara Reddy Botanical Garden located in Kondapur amid all the construction work on the main road. It is a large open space for a refreshing walk and kids to play or even have a nice picnic.
Many of the plantations are labelled and explain the properties of the plants. The giant turtle dome and fountain near the entrance is refreshing, especially in the summers. It also acts as a stock house for plants that are used for research.
The park is being developed even further. Eateries and picnic spots are yet to open. There is a play area with swings and slides for the kids.
Entry Fee and Parking:
The entry fee is ₹30 for adults and ₹10 for children. It is open from 5:30 am to 6 pm. There is a parking area on the opposite side of the road. Make sure to ask for a receipt, or else they’ll charge whatever they wish and pocket it.
Priyadarshini Park Saroornagar

Located on the banks of the Saroornagar Lake, this green space is a haven amidst the chaos that surrounds it. The greenery combined with the lake makes it an ideal place to spend some time on your own or with family and friends.
Apart from a play area, there are rides for kids you can avail of for a fee. You can also go boating in the lake on a mechanised or a paddleboat. Charges for both differ.
Entry Fee and Parking:
The entry fee is ₹5 for all above the age of 3. It is open from 9 am to 8 pm. Parking space is limited.

Wow! Looking forward to part 2. Recently moved to Hyderabad and still exploring. We have a monthly permit to KBR park as we go for morning walks there. Such a wonderful place! That peacock’s picture is stunning! I see many pracockw there regularly.
Part 2 will come soon. I wanted to visit them this year instead of posting old pictures. So soon!
I guess I might bump into you somewhere without even knowing it 😉 We’re also exploring parks around here for our morning walks.
Impossible because I am never up in the mornings 🤣. Only evenings
Exploring can happen anytime though 😉 Simetimes we might decide to go about in the evening, depending on how work permits. 😀
