My Creative Mantra: Don’t Waste – Create

Cards made out of scrap bits of paper

If you’re a crafter of any kind, you will have a stash of leftover bits and bobs. There’s no use hiding it – we know you do. Art and craft ideas just jump in your head when you think about it. Let’s bring it out in the open and proudly declare ourselves hoarders of things most sane people would throw away.

What a lot of people don’t understand about our ‘box of rubbish’ is that it’s actually a treasure chest. Not only does it come in handy when you need that tiny bit of material, but it’s a great tool to unleash your creative side. It is also a treasure trove of art and craft ideas for kids.

Spread out your collection on the floor, look at it; what can you think of? Start putting a few things together. Does it spark any ideas?

There are so many easy crafts to do at home with these items. I have my box of mostly paper scraps. I have used these to make a greeting card and some paper crafts for home decoration.

How to make a card for birthday with scraps? Just go wild with your imagination and think out of the box. It doesn’t have to look a certain way. Just let creativity be your guide.

Shop for greeting cards online and look out for our scrappy art cards.
